The New Community Shelter was founded by concerned community residents in 1994 to help the homeless and the hungry, and has evolved to become one of the most respected shelters in the State. Our mission: • To provide emergency shelter, meals, education, resource & countless supportive services • To provide adequate services & a safe environment to support the self-dignity of residents. • To support the residents in their transition to permanent shelter & a self-sustaining lifestyle.
We believe it is essential to empower the residents to help themselves become self-sufficient. We have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs; rules & expectations; & operate in an atmosphere of respect. Our Emergency Shelter Program provides case management, education & limitless supportive services.
