Looking to get the word out with on social media? This guide will help you get started and on the road to creating a successful strategy.
Below is a list of ways you can begin engaging your followers for Give BIG Green Bay!
Follow Give BIG Green Bay and @Packers on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (X). Now you can begin sharing important updates about Give BIG Green Bay with your followers!
Promote your social media page(s). Include a link to all of your social media accounts on your website's homepage, newsletters, and emails. Ask your staff members, board members, volunteers, and donors to like your page and help you promote it.
Tell everyone that you're IN! Update cover images to show that you are participating in Give BIG Green Bay on {{dog-date}}. You can find sample cover images here. Be sure to tell people what giving day is all about by using some of the suggested posts above. Let them know they can donate and ask them to help spread the word.
Share powerful images and videos. Pictures and videos draw people in and are more likely to be shown in your followers' feeds. Focus on sharing images that speak to your organization's mission and your target audience. Create a regular schedule for posting. We recommend posting at least 2-3 times per week to stay in your supporters feeds! Be sure to include the hashtag #givebiggb in any giving day-related posts, in additional to other hashtags related to your organization and mission. 3-5 hashtags per post is the sweet spot.
Socialize! Like your supporters’ posts and consider re-sharing posts that stand out and speak to your cause. Showcasing the stories and individuals that propel your organization’s mission will help you gain more followers, recognition, and traction in advance of the day. Also take this opportunity to cross-promote by liking and re-sharing other organizations’ posts to boost your visibility.
Provide a quick thank you message on social media immediately after the Giving Day is over, and follow up with a longer heart-felt message a day or two after.
Do all of the above and repeat...again and again and again.
